After IPL 2022, the focus is now on national duty as India will play a five-match T20I series against South Africa

The 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) is over as the Gujarat Titans emerge as the 15th season champion. The focus is on national work as India will play a five-match T20I match against South Africa at home from June 9. The series will mark the start of the second half of preparations for India’s T20 World Cup in late October. And ahead of the series, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has an “explosive” proposal by India coach Rahul Dravid.

The series will mark the return of Hardik Pandya to the Indian team for the first time since the 2020 T20 World Cup following a recovery from a hamstring injury. However, following his excellent performance as an outstanding player in the IPL 2022, the nominees rewarded him with a call-up to India.

Praising his performance in the tournament, where Pandya led Gujarat to victory, Gavaskar told Star Sports that if Hardik and Risbabh Pant beat No.5 and 6 in India, the team would be able to beat the -run only 120only6 more.”I think you will be ranked fifth or sixth. Just imagine, if India has Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant in five or six years. They may take turns slightly – that will be a combination of fireworks. 100-120. They can do that. So, that would be an exciting feature, “Gavaskar said. Hardik scored 487 runs in the IPL 2022 with an average of 44.27 and a strike rate of 131.27. He also received eight wickets for an economic value of 7.28.
