A surveillance system installed at the headquarters of the National Highways Authority of India in Dwarka keeps track of the health of all computers in its network, alerts login attempts, malware or system malwareInstalled in 2021, the Security Operation Center (SoC) titled C3iVazra protected computers that monitor highways across the country and warned of potential dangers.
C3iVazra provides directional monitoring by collecting real-time event, and log-in from the end, packet data from the network and the internet, and analyzes these feeds to generate threatening intelligence and ensure organizational network security. The main advantages of this solution are to increase efficiency in incident response, reduced impact of security breaches, better reporting and notification, log analysis, and retention.
The SoC, the first in the country based entirely on open source integration and integration, was developed by the Cyberphysical systems Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) or C3iHub established at IIT Kanpur – the R&D center for internet security in the country. For the past two years, TIH, with the support of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) has focused on critical infrastructure security, mobile device security, blockchain- solutions based on digital notebooks integrity, and data privacy. It also supported the implementation of the cybersecurity domain, which includes a platform that takes the advanced technology of C3iHub back into the market.
A self-sovereign identity (SSI) system based on blockchain technology developed by C3iHub. Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) is a technology that allows users to have complete control over where and how personal data is used by the user. SSI uses a combination of technologies to provide this control to the user with blockchain, anonymous evidence, and digital signatures. It is useful for securely storing a variety of personal information, including degrees, certificates, and identity documents.
The SSI prize-based system based on the C3iHub was developed and used by IIT installed on the Startup CRUBN harp. The Prime Minister awarded degrees on the program to IIT Kanpur graduates. The program was also used to award PM Bal Puraskar and degrees by IGNOU.
C3iHub, through CRUBN, has also set blockchain-based world records in six Karnataka regions, which will be expanded to other regions.TIH is currently working with the Department of Communications to make recommendations on how to protect end users from unwanted cell phone data leaks and to develop smartphone security analysis tools. It also works with the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Energy, the RBI, and the UP Government to address their online security needs.
