The Malaysian government says it is awaiting a decision on a proposed reduction in the tariff on palm oil exports

The Malaysian Ministry of Goods on Friday said it was in talks with the Treasury to look into the possibility of reducing the import tariff on palm oil by 4% -6%.”The proposed temporary reduction is awaiting a decision and we believe that Malaysian exports are likely to succeed in the short term as international buyers will receive Malaysian palm oil,” Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin said in a statement.
