The country’s first “AmritSarovar” was inaugurated today in Patwai, Rampur (UP) by Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Uttar Pradesh Jal Shakti Minister Shri Swatantra Dev Singh.On this occasion, Shri Naqvi said that this magnificent ‘AmritSarovar’ was built under the inspiration of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and under the guidance of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath.

The minister said that the participation and cooperation of the common people, villagers and the promptness of Gram Panchayat and the district administration played an important role in opening this great “AmritSarovar” in a very short time.He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi spoke about this “AmritSarovar” in Patwai, Rampur last month on the Mann Ki Baat program.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said in Mann Ki Baat: “I am pleased to hear that since AmritSarovar’s resolution was adopted, work has started at a rapid pace in many places. I heard about Gram Panchayat Patwai from Rampur in UP. There was a pond on the land of the Gram Sabha, but it was full of dirt and heaps of rubbish. With a lot of hard work, with the help of local people, with the help of local school children, this dirty pond has been transformed over the last few weeks. Now many provisions have been made on the shores of this lake, such as retaining wall, perimeter wall, food court, fountain and lighting. I congratulate the Patwai Gram Panchayat of Rampur, the villagers and the children there for their efforts.”

Shri Naqvi explained that this ‘AmritSarovar’ will not only contribute to environmental protection and water conservation, but also will be an attraction for the people around. In addition to food court, fountain and lighting and other entertainment, boating is also available in this “AmritSarovar”.On that occasion, Shri Swatantra Dev Singh said that this “AmritSarovar” in Patwai, Rampur is an example of how great changes can be brought about through coordination and cooperation between government and society. He said this “AmritSarovar” will prove very helpful in protecting the environment and will be a magnet for people in the surrounding area. Shri Swatantra Dev Singh stated that the works to establish 75 AmritSarovar in each district of Uttar Pradesh under AzadiKaAmritMahotsav are progressing at high speed.
