Prime Minister Modi and President Macron have spoken to Russian and Ukrainian to end the war

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a 90-minute private meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday evening at the Elysée Palace, focusing on the consequences and solutions to the Ukrainian war rather than looking at the positions of both countries and both leadersto discuss ways to combat the deteriorating Indo-Pacific climate. While Prime Minister Modi was discussing strategic ideas with his trusted colleagues, his Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had a separate interview with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, who met separately with his French counterpart. French Defense Minister Florence Parly.

They then joined Modi and Macron in the delegation-level talks. It is understandable that Modi shared his thoughts on the impact of Ukraine’s global war and its impact on food security in poor countries. He made it clear that it was not an important war situation but the ability to push for solutions to the impending global crisis as Russia refuses to end the war. Both Prime Minister Modi and President Macron have spoken to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to end the violence and sue for peace.

Prime Minister Modi informed President Macron that India was ready to provide food and grain to poorer countries in order to close the world market gap due to the war, but needed approval from the WTO. The two leaders agreed on the threat posed by the food crisis and that the World Food Program and the UN would need support to feed the world’s poor.

The two leaders acknowledged the nature of the Indo-Pacific when President Macron asked PM Modi what should be done collectively to combat conflicts and tendencies in the region. Both leaders on the same page in the Indo-Pacific and the navy of both countries regularly exercise regularly. The most common threat, of course, is China.

The two leaders, who have only translators in the room, also spoke about Afghanistan, Pakistan, terrorism, and the security environment around the world. While the two leaders had extensive discussions, PM Modi and senior aides of President Macron spoke to each other. It became clear through the meeting between Doval and Parly that France was well prepared to participate in the ‘Make in India’ project by jointly producing critical and growing security professionals in India and exporting to third countries without any export license.

Modi is satisfied with his short but important visit to France for all the issues that should be followed by President Macron’s visit to India later this year and in the strategic discussion to be held soon with the NSA team in charge of internal security cooperation, these two friends are very close.
