Heatwave Claims Lives in Jaipur, Newborns Die in Jhalawar Due to Alleged Negligence

JAIPUR: Three individuals lost their lives due to heat stroke in Jaipur on Tuesday, the health department reported. This tragic event has brought the total number of heat stroke cases in the city to 3,965 as of Monday. Health officials noted that the deceased were from Agra and Delhi.

In a separate incident, two newborn babies admitted to the Government Community Health Centre in Jhalawar district died on the same day. The parents have accused the hospital management of negligence, citing the absence of coolers and doctors in the ward as contributing factors to the deaths.

Following the incident, Block Medical Officer Raees Khan visited the hospital and directed the installation of four coolers in the ward. He also mandated the appointment of doctors for 24-hour duty to ensure better care for patients.

Mr. Khan announced that an investigation would be conducted to determine if the extreme heat was the cause of the newborns’ deaths.
