Yoga Utsav attracts worldwide presence at Red Fort

On World Health Day celebrated, the AYUSH Department organized Yoga Utsav – World Yoga Day Health Awareness Program at Red Fort. The event was honored by Lok Sabha speaker Shri Om Birla as the Guest of Honor. The whole world embraces Yoga for a healthier Yoga Utsav is organized ahead of International Yoga Day in recognition of the action of AmritMahotsav’sAzadi Union Government.

Yoga is our ancestral way of life. We have kept this Yoga practice before the World Yoga Day on the ‘Azaz of AmritMahotsav,” Yoga is not only effective in preventing and controlling but also in treating disease. The whole world embraces Yoga to live a healthier life, said Lok Sabha spokesman Om Birla.

Participate officials& MPs

The event has been of great benefit to many Union Ministers, Members of Parliament, Ambassadors of various countries, Yoga gurus, senior officials and volunteers as they carry out the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP). Ayush Union Minister, Ports, Ships & Waterways Shri SarbanandaSonowal; Minister of Tourism, Culture & Union Donor Shri G Kishan Reddy; Minister of Labor and Employment, Forestry and Climate Change Shri Bhupender Yadav; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Culture, Smt. MeenakshiLekhi; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Affairs, Shri RajkumarRanjan Singh; Minister of Labor and Employment and Natural Gas and Natural Gas Shri RameswarTeli; and the Minister of State for Ports, Transport and Waterways Shri Shantanu Thakur were present. Among the MPs who attended the event were Jagadambika Pal, Rajendra Agarwal, Sunita Duggal, Mangala Suresh Angari, C Laltlanthanga, PhangnonKonyak, Topon Kumar Gogoi, Rajdeep Roy and Horen Singh Bey.

A number of dignitaries and officials from Ambassadors and High Commissioners in many countries including Sweden, Hungary, Vietnam, Madagascar, Trinidad & Tobago, Venezuela, Togo, Peru, Kyrgyzstan and Zimbabwe took part in Yoga Utsav to ensure international presence at the event. 75 days of counting down to the 8th International Day of Yoga this year. International Day of Yoga is celebrated worldwide on June 21 every year.

Speaking at the meeting, the Speaker of Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla highlighted the importance of Yoga and said, “Yoga is a symbol of India’s rich values. He greeted everyone on World Health Day and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking yoga into the world. “

Yoga gurus and CYP

The Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) has been given great prominence in major exhibition. CYP is designed for input from experts as it incorporates daily Yoga practice to reap all the benefits of Yoga. The protocol is intended to inform Yoga practices such as Yoga Nidra, Pranayama, Dhyan etc. Each Yogic activity is key to improving flexibility, strength, balance and gaining harmony. The Yoga Portal of the Government of India is a platform to help people embrace, exercise, and enjoy daily yoga.

Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ayush Department noted the importance of Yoga and said that Yoga has become an international symbol and is widely practiced in almost every country in the world.

Yoga Gurus like Pujya Swami ChidanandSaraswati, President, ParmarthNiketan and BhikkhuSanghasena, founder, Mahabodhi International Meditation Center, Leh-Ladhkh also shared their details during the live program.

Yoga Utsav75-day Countdown

At the event, Shri SarbanandaSonowal, said “World Health Day. Yoga is a practice that brings harmony between body and mind. It gives us physical strength and gives us mental balance and emotional stability so that we can cope successfully with the challenges of modern life. We are planning this event to mark the 75-day Countdown to World Yoga Day”. The Minister also informed that the Department has organized the practice of Yoga in 75 of India’s most famous landmarks and plans to roll out IDY programs around the world throughout the day. He said this was linked to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji’s ‘One Sun, One Earth’ campaign.

After the addresses, a live demonstration of the Common Yoga Protocol was conducted by experts from the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga under the leadership of Drs. Ishwar V. Basavaraddi, Director of MDNIY where more than 3000 Yoga sadhak practiced the Common Yoga Protocol under the Red Fort ambiance. The program was broadcast on various social media platforms of Ayush, MDNIY and other yoga centers.
