Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash to Star in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana

The upcoming Ramayana film directed by Nitesh Tiwari is set to feature an ensemble cast, with Ranbir Kapoor portraying Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Raavan. The epic is expected to hit the big screen in the second half of 2025. Nitesh Tiwari plans to commence the film’s shooting in February/March 2024. Yash will reportedly join the team in July after completing his commitments for the film “Toxic.”

The production aims to introduce innovative filmmaking technology, collaborating with the Oscar-winning VFX company DNEG. The pre-production phase, including 3D scans and look tests, has been completed with the lead actors. Part one of the trilogy will primarily focus on building the story of Ram and Sita, introducing characters like Hanuman, with Yash making an extended appearance. Part two will delve into the arc of the Raavan character.

Ranbir Kapoor is set to visit DNEG’s office in Los Angeles for pre-production work, indicating the film’s commitment to high-quality visuals and storytelling. The first part of Ramayana is slated for release in the latter half of 2025, with discussions ongoing with Sunny Deol for the role of Hanuman. Alia Bhatt was previously reported to play the role of Sita, but her involvement has not been confirmed.
