Four Major Infrastructure Projects Worth Rs 23,500 Crore Recommended for Approval under PM Gati Shakti Initiative

Four infrastructure projects involving roads and railways with a combined worth of Rs 23,500 crore have been recommended for approval under the PM Gati Shakti initiative. These projects were discussed during the 58th Network Planning Group (NPG) meeting held on October 17. The NPG, an inter-ministerial body, meets every two weeks to evaluate infrastructure projects to ensure multi-modality, synchronization of efforts, and comprehensive development in and around the project location.
The PM Gati Shakti initiative aims to develop integrated infrastructure to reduce logistics costs, and projects with investments exceeding Rs 500 crore are reviewed by the NPG before seeking clearance from the Public Investment Board or the Department of Expenditure under the finance ministry.
