Israeli Embassy Staffer Attacked in Beijing, China

An Israeli embassy staffer in Beijing, China, was attacked and hospitalized, according to the Israel foreign ministry. The diplomat is in stable condition, and the motive for the attack, which did not take place at the embassy itself, is being investigated.

A video circulating on social media appears to show the man being stabbed with a knife, though its authenticity has not been independently verified.

Hamas has called for a “day of rage,” prompting alerts for Israelis and Jews worldwide to be on high alert.

China’s foreign ministry expressed concern about the potential escalation of the conflict between Israel and Palestinian militants.

Notably, Israel recently ordered Palestinians to leave Gaza City within 24 hours, signaling a potential ground offensive in retaliation against Hamas. The United Nations has appealed for the evacuation order to be rescinded, describing it as “impossible” due to the densely populated area.

The conflict has resulted in a high number of casualties on both sides, with over 1,530 lives lost in Gaza, including 500 children, according to Gaza’s health ministry.
