Election Commission Announces Schedule for Assembly Elections in Five States

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially announced the schedule for assembly elections in five states: Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram. •Chhattisgarh: The election in Chhattisgarh will be held in two phases. The first phase is scheduled for November 7, followed by the second phase on November 17.
•Rajasthan and Telangana: Both Rajasthan and Telangana will go to the polls in a single phase, with Rajasthan’s elections taking place on November 23 and Telangana’s on November 30.
•Madhya Pradesh: Legislative elections in Madhya Pradesh will be held on November 17.
•Mizoram: Legislative elections in Mizoram are scheduled for November 7.

•Around 60 lakh first-time voters will have the opportunity to participate in the elections across these five states.
•The total number of male voters exceeds female voters, with 8.24 crore male voters and 7.88 crore female voters.
•Information on candidates’ criminal antecedents is available on the KYC App of ECI and the affidavit.eci.gov.in portal.
•Citizens can report electoral malpractices through the ECI’s cVigil app, with a commitment to responding to complaints within 100 minutes.
The Chief Election Commissioner emphasized the importance of these state assembly elections, describing them as a unique and significant political event preceding the national elections in 2024.
