Republican lawmakers impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden now dismisses Impeachment Inquiry as Baseless

The White House has categorically rejected what it calls “baseless” allegations against President Joe Biden after Republican lawmakers initiated an impeachment inquiry against him. While the President did not respond directly to reporters’ questions about the probe, his Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, defended him against the investigation by his political opponents.

Jean-Pierre emphasized that Republican lawmakers have been investigating the President throughout the year but have failed to produce any evidence of wrongdoing on his part. She asserted that Biden did not commit any wrongdoing, and she characterized the impeachment inquiry as a political stunt.

This development comes as President Biden grapples with low poll ratings and anticipates a potential rematch with former President Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election in 2024.

Amid the impeachment inquiries and political controversies, President Biden led a meeting of his “Cancer Cabinet,” which is dedicated to combating cancer. This issue holds personal significance for the President, as his eldest son, Beau Biden, succumbed to brain cancer in 2015. Both President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden have dealt with their own cancer-related health challenges.

While Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings have been a consistent target for Republicans, it’s important to note that he has not been charged with crimes related to these activities. Moreover, there is no credible evidence suggesting that President Biden was involved in any illegal activities related to his son’s business dealings.

However, this impeachment inquiry poses a potential distraction for the White House and offers Republicans fresh ammunition for political attacks leading up to the 2024 election. The political climate surrounding the President remains dynamic, with a recent poll by Quinnipiac University indicating a narrow one-percent lead for President Biden in a hypothetical matchup against Donald Trump.

Half of the poll’s respondents believed that President Biden was connected to Hunter’s business dealings in China and Ukraine, with 35 percent believing that the President had engaged in illegal activities. As the investigation unfolds, its implications for the President’s administration and the broader political landscape will continue to be closely watched.
