Rajkummar Rao recalls his youth and says that he often used to repair things in his house at screening of Guns & Gulaab

Attending a special fan event in Delhi on Sunday evening, Rajkummar Rao reminisced about his childhood days when he was often turned into solving many household chores. He also jokingly said that not only did he fix a few nuts and bolts around his house, but he even stole a cable at the time. He was speaking at a special screening of his upcoming web series Guns & Gulaabs.

Asked if he had ever repaired a flat tire in his life, Rajkummar said he never did. “We didn’t fix the puncture but we had a paanna (key) at our house. Each house has its own engineer who repairs everything around the house. I did it at our house. If a wire needs to be replaced (I would do that) or padosi ke ghar se cable churani hai (stealing a cable from a neighbor’s house) – we had that kind of cable back then. I did all that very well.” His character in Guns & Gulaabs is called Tipu Paana (as he plays a man who kills people with a wrench).

Rajkummar completed his college from Delhi University and studied art before moving to Pune to study at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). He also said at the event that every family has its engineer and he was one for his family.

A special premiere for fans

The special screening was organized by Netflix and Act Fibernet (the company that conducted invited fans to the screening). The first two episodes of Guns & Gulaabs were screened at the event. Set in the 1990s, the show follows the story of love-struck mechanic Tipu (Rajkummar), reluctant heir to the ruling gang Chhota Ganchi (Adarsh Gourav), honorable officer Arjun Verma (Dulquer Salmaan) and assassin Atmaram (Gulshan). Devaiah).

Rajkummar on Raj & DK

Before the screening of the show, Rajkummar also talked about the creators Raj and DK. “Whenever Raj and DK write something, it has to be atrangi (extraordinary). They wrote a movie about Zombies (Go Goa Gone) and see how the zombies were finally killed. Throw cocaine at them and they die. So bizarre! There is this ghost in Stree that carries away naked men. She could have just taken them with her clothes, but she didn’t. He will leave his clothes and take them naked.”

“Now this (Guns & Gulaabs). There’s this normal guy who kills people with a paana (wrench). I love the whole world they’ve created and I’ve been a big fan of them, they’re great friends. They’re always ahead.” of what we can even imagine, so it’s always fun to work with them,” he added.

Lethal weapons

At the event, Rajkumar was also asked if he ever thought the key could be used as a murder weapon. The actor then reminded the anchor that nothing like this should ever happen in real life. “I never thought about it. Nothing like that should happen in real life. Actually. It looks fun and good watching it on the show.”
