India active coronavirus cases rise up to 61,233

India reported 7,633 new coronavirus infections while the number of active cases rose to 61,233, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday. The death toll rose to 5,31,152 with 11 dead.

While four deaths were reported from Delhi, one each from Haryana, Karnataka and Punjab, while four deaths were reconciled by Kerala, the data was updated at 8 am.

Rise of coronavirus cases

The number of COVID-19 cases was recorded at 4.47 million (4,48,34,859). Active cases now account for 0.14 percent of the total number of infections, and the national recovery rate for COVID-19 has been recorded at 98.68 percent, the ministry said.

The number of people who recovered from the coronavirus rose to 4,42,42,474, while the death rate was recorded at 1.18 percent. According to the ministry’s website, 220.66 million doses of the Coronavirus vaccine have been administered so far in the country as part of the nationwide vaccination drive.
