General Atomics, the US energy and defense major, has launched three major projects in India in the fields of artificial intelligence, drones and semiconductors, a company official said, a day after the launch of a landmark Indo-US initiative on critical and emerging technologies.

It has partnered with Indian semiconductor start-up 3rdiTech, Lall was one of the key private sector players who participated in various events this week related to the launch of the India-US Initiatives on Critical and Emerging Technologies, or iCET.

 GA-ASI entered into a strategic partnership with 3rdiTech.

Semiconductors will be the defining technology of this era. The team and capabilities being developed at 3rdiTech represent a new India under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. GA-ASI will work with 3rdiTech, one of the inaugural winners of the Indian Ministry of Defense’s flagship iDEX program, to translate this cutting-edge capability into some from Indian platforms,

A task force set up by the US Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) in collaboration with the India Electronics Semiconductor Association (IESA) with the Indian government’s semiconductor mission to develop a “readiness assessment” to identify near-term industry opportunities and facilitate longer-term strategic development of complementary semiconductor ecosystems, said White House a day early.
