More than 5 million Tiranga selfies have been uploaded to the Har Ghar Tiranga websiteb

A staggering achievement, more than 5 million Tiranga selfies have been uploaded to the Har Ghar Tiranga website. As India embarks on its 76th year of independence and ends the 75-week countdown to August 15, 2022, the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative of the government was spearheaded by the nodal ministry for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav; Ministry of Culture. An initiative dedicated to fostering a deeper personal connection with Tiranga has asked Indians everywhere to display the flag at home or in their workplace as a pledge to nation building during Amrit Kaal (25 years from now to India@2047)

Conceived in a hybrid format, the program envisioned a physical and emotional connection with the flag itself in a personal context, as well as a collective celebration and amplification of patriotic fervor by uploading selfies to a special website created for the initiative. Earlier in the morning in his Independence Day speech, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi remarked that in the last few days we have seen and experienced a new force which was the renaissance of collective conscience and the revival of this collective conscience is the greatest treasure. country and is like the nectar that emerged during the years of freedom struggle.

Hon’ble Prime Minister called on 22 July 2022 to join the Har Ghar Tiranga movement by hoisting or unfurling the national flag at homes. The achievement of 5 million Tiranga selfies was achieved around 4:00 pm this afternoon with the participation of everyone in India and around the world celebrating this special moment in India’s history. The commemoration of 75 years of independence began on 12 March 2021 as a 75-week countdown to 15 August 2022 and will continue until 15 August 2023.

Speaking about the milestone, Minister for Culture, Tourism and DoNER Shri Kishan Reddy said, “5 million Tirangi selfies reflects the collective commitment of Indians who have the duty to keep the nation first and always first. Thank you, India. This is indeed a special moment of outpouring of collective expressions of love and connection with the motherland. Happy Independence Day everyone!”

He also said that as part of the buzz-making activity, the site also allowed people to digitally “pin a flag” to a location based on their IP. The feature saw a huge draw with Mr. India and the global participation crossed 5 crore + pins. In his Independence Day address to the nation, PM Modi also said, “I urge the youth to dedicate the next 25 years of their lives to the development of the nation. We will work on the development of all humanity. That is the strength of India.” 5 million flag selfies are a testimony of 5 million pledges to keep India on top and make India the supreme nation.
