Sunny Deol Shares Thoughts on Brother Bobby’s Film “Animal”

The Deol brothers are enjoying a successful 2023, with Sunny Deol‘s “Gadar 2” being a blockbuster and Bobby Deol earning praise for his role in “Animal.” Sunny recently watched the film and shared his thoughts in an interview, expressing his genuine happiness for Bobby. While he acknowledged liking “Animal” as a nice film with excellent music that complements the sequences, Sunny did mention there were certain aspects he did not like, without specifying. He emphasized Bobby’s performance and humorously dubbed him “Lord Bobby.”

“Animal,” directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has achieved blockbuster status with a worldwide collection of over ₹700 crore. However, it has faced criticism for its violent scenes, portrayal of misogynistic characters, and the glorification of toxic masculinity. Sunny’s comments did not clarify if these were the aspects he didn’t like.

Bobby Deol, who played the antagonist Abrar Haque in “Animal,” shared his perspective on the character, emphasizing the trauma and family-oriented nature of Abrar. He explained that he didn’t view his character as a traditional villain but rather as a child traumatized by witnessing his grandfather’s suicide, leading to his vow for revenge. The film, also starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Triptii Dimri, is approaching the ₹800 crore mark in gross worldwide box office collections. “Animal” was released on December 1, 2023, in multiple languages.
