Sri Lanka‘s president on Friday asked officials to resolve obstacles to Indian-backed projects, a government statement said, without specifying what the obstacles were. President Ranil Wickremesinghe presided over a discussion on the progress of several development projects under Indian investment and told officials “to take steps to resolve the hurdles that have arisen in the course of several Indian investment projects in Sri Lanka”. India has this year offered billions of dollars in support to its southern neighbor, which is facing its worst economic crisis in more than a decade.
