The Punjab government is gearing up to present its 2025-26 Budget in the Vidhan Sabha on March 26, with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s Cabinet approving the Budget Session from March 21 to March 28. This budget is expected to outline key financial allocations and policy decisions shaping the state’s economic and educational landscape.
One of the major highlights of the upcoming budget is the launch of 40 ‘Hunar Sikhiya’ schools across Punjab, aimed at providing technical education in fields like banking, digital design, and IT. With an investment of Rs 32 crore, the initiative is seen as a game-changer for skill development, equipping students with practical knowledge and industry-relevant expertise.
Additionally, the Punjab government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with British Council Education India Private Limited (BCEIPL) to enhance English proficiency among students. This initiative is expected to benefit around 5,000 students annually, improving their job prospects in global and domestic markets.
With a strong focus on education, skill development, and employment, Punjab’s 2025-26 Budget is poised to address youth aspirations while bolstering the state’s economic growth.
