Actress Shruti Haasan recently shared insights into her personal journey of sobriety, highlighting her decision to quit alcohol. Speaking on the podcast “Untriggered with Aminjaz,” the actress revealed that she has been sober for eight years, emphasizing the positive impact this choice has had on her life.
While Shruti Haasan clarified that she was never into drugs, she candidly discussed her relationship with alcohol. She expressed that, after a certain point, alcohol stopped serving any positive purpose in her life. The actress mentioned that she constantly felt hungover, and the desire to drink with friends was dominating her experiences.
“I’ve been sober for eight years now. So, it’s hard to tolerate people in party situations when you’re not drinking. I have zero regrets, zero hangovers, and it’s just been the best to be sober for me. It might be a phase, or you might like doing it for the rest of your life, that’s chill,” Shruti Haasan stated during the podcast.
Acknowledging the challenges of social situations where drinking is prevalent, Shruti Haasan emphasized the importance of making choices that align with personal well-being. She shared that distancing herself from people who encouraged excessive partying was a crucial aspect of her journey to sobriety.
Shruti Haasan, known for her work in Telugu cinema, also discussed her upcoming projects. She is set to star in “Salaar Part 1,” directed by Prashant Neel and featuring Prabhas in the lead role. Additionally, she will be part of an upcoming pan-India project alongside actor Adivi Sesh. The actress is also involved in an international project titled “The Eye.”
