Former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar showered praise on Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli for delivering an outstanding performance yet again when the stakes were high. In the recent World Cup 2023 match against New Zealand, Kohli showcased his prowess by scoring 95 crucial runs, leading India to a thrilling four-wicket victory at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala on October 22.

As the match unfolded, it appeared that Virat Kohli was poised to equal the iconic Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 centuries in One Day Internationals (ODIs). However, an untimely mistimed pull shot brought his brilliant innings to an end, landing the ball straight into the hands of Glenn Phillips at mid-wicket. Despite Kohli’s dismissal, India chased down the target of 274 with 12 balls to spare.
