Ajay Devgn’s “Shaitaan” Enters ₹100 Crore Club Worldwide

Ajay Devgn’s latest supernatural thriller, “Shaitaan,” has stormed into the coveted ₹100 crore club worldwide, marking another milestone in the actor’s post-COVID-19 pandemic era. According to reports from Sacnilk.com, the film achieved this feat on its fifth day of release, Tuesday.

The box office figures reveal an impressive performance for “Shaitaan,” with the film adding approximately ₹6.25 crore to its India collection on the sixth day, Wednesday, reaching a total of ₹74 crore nett domestically, based on early estimates. Moreover, the film grossed around ₹80 crore in India and an estimated ₹20 crore overseas within the first five days of its release.

“Shaitaan” now stands as the third Hindi movie of 2024 to surpass the ₹100 crore mark worldwide, following the successes of “Fighter” starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, and “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.

This accomplishment also marks a significant milestone for the cast and crew of “Shaitaan.” For lead actress Jyotika, the film represents her first ₹100 crore movie in Bollywood after a hiatus of over two decades. R. Madhavan, on the other hand, celebrates his third film to enter the prestigious club.

Director Vikas Bahl adds another feather to his cap with “Shaitaan,” marking his second ₹100 crore grosser following the success of 2019’s “Super 30,” starring Hrithik Roshan.

“Shaitaan,” helmed by Vikas Bahl, is presented by Jio Studios, Devgn Films, and Panorama Studios. Produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak, the film is a Hindi remake of the 2023 Gujarati horror film “Vash,” originally written and directed by Krishnadev Yagnik.

The film’s impressive box office performance underscores its appeal to audiences and further cements Ajay Devgn’s stature as a box office powerhouse in the post-pandemic cinema landscape.
