Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena Predicts “Achhe Din” for Congress Ahead of Election Results

Mumbai | Updated: December 2, 2023, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, associated with the INDIA party, expressed confidence in the Congress’s victory in the upcoming assembly elections, stating that “achhe din” (good times) for the Congress have arrived. Raut emphasized that the alliance’s success, including the Congress, is a testament to the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge.

The assembly election results for Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram are set to be announced on December 3. Exit polls on November 30 indicated a closely contested battle between the Congress and the BJP in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, with Chhattisgarh and Telangana leaning towards the Congress.

Raut stated, “Congress’s victory is the victory of the INDIA bloc. If Congress is winning elections, it is the victory of the alliance.” He credited the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge for the positive trend.

Exit polls projected a tight race in Chhattisgarh, with a slight advantage for the Congress. In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP was predicted to have a narrow lead in a neck-and-neck contest. Rajasthan saw a close fight between the BJP and Congress, while Telangana appeared favorable for the Congress.

Businessman Robert Vadra, husband of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, also expressed optimism about Congress’s prospects in Madhya Pradesh. Vadra, while expressing reservations about exit polls, highlighted the importance of the actual results, eagerly anticipating the outcome on December 3.

Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Kamal Nath dismissed exit poll predictions and urged party workers to stay confident in their strength. He emphasized that the public’s support, evident in the voting turnout, would reflect positively for the Congress when the counting of votes begins.

The assembly elections have garnered significant attention, with political leaders and supporters eagerly awaiting the final results that will shape the political landscape in these states.
