India continues to dominate the global electric three-wheeler (E-3W) market, registering a sharp 20% rise in sales, reaching nearly 0.7 million units in 2024, according to the International Energy Agency’s Global EV Outlook 2025.
This growth comes despite a 5% dip in overall global three-wheeler sales, with India outperforming all major markets after surpassing China in 2023 to become the world’s largest E-3W hub.
Key to this momentum is the government-backed PM E-DRIVE scheme, which is enabling the deployment of more than 300,000 electric three-wheelers for commercial use. India, along with China and Southeast Asia, remains at the forefront of electrified mobility solutions, driving sustainable urban transport and economic opportunity.
