The multilateral strategic and command exercise Vostok – 2022 began today at the training grounds of Russia’s Eastern Military District from September 1 to 7, 2022. The exercise is focused on interaction and coordination between other participating military contingents and observers. An Indian Army contingent comprising 7/8 Gorkha Rifles has arrived at the exercise site and will undertake joint maneuvers over the next seven days, which include joint field exercises, battle discussions and firepower exercises. The Indian Army contingent will look forward to sharing practical aspects and putting into practice proven exercises, procedures and practical integration of new technologies through discussions and tactical exercises.
