The debate on nepotism in Bollywood continues to surface, often bringing star kids like Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt into the spotlight. However, Jaideep Ahlawat, known for his roles in “Raazi” and “Pataal Lok,” offers a fresh perspective on the issue.
In an interview with Miss Malini, Ahlawat, who started his career as an outsider, shared that nepotism has never bothered him. Despite his lack of connections in the industry, he remains confident that he would not lose roles to established star kids like Ranbir Kapoor or Varun Dhawan.
Jaideep Ahlawat claims he won’t lose any movie role to Ranbir Kapoor.
“There’s no bigger honor than earning your place in the industry through hard work,” Ahlawat remarked. He believes that the narrative of outsiders versus insiders is overblown and that true talent always finds a way to shine. “Even if Ranbir were an outsider, he would have still become Ranbir Kapoor,” Ahlawat added, emphasizing that genuine skill and passion are what ultimately matter.
Jaideep Ahlawat’s Stance on Star Kids
Ahlawat praised the inherent talents of actors like Ranbir Kapoor, acknowledging that their success is due to their abilities, not just their lineage. He pointed out that star kids naturally benefit from their families’ established careers in the industry, which is a normal progression. If someone from his own family decided to join the industry in the future, he would support them in the same way.
The actor stressed that his goal in Bollywood has always been to create his unique identity rather than follow in anyone’s footsteps. “I came here to make my name as Jaideep Ahlawat, not as a second Ranbir Kapoor,” he said. Ahlawat urged aspiring actors to focus on developing their own image instead of trying to emulate someone else. He highlighted the careers of industry stalwarts like Irrfan Khan and Manoj Bajpayee, who established themselves without relying on existing legacies.
Jaideep Ahlawat is set to appear in the upcoming film “Maharaj,” directed by Siddharth P Malhotra. The film also marks the acting debut of Junaid Khan, son of Aamir Khan, and is scheduled to release on Netflix on June 14.
