Ministry of Labour and Employment (MOLE) released today the Quarterly Employment Survey (QES) Quarterly Report for the period October-December, 2021, prepared by the Labor Bureau, the MOLE affiliated office. The AQEES has been taken over by the Labor Bureau to provide regular (quarterly) updates on employment and institutional flexibility in both the planned and informal sectors of the nine selected sectors, covering most of the total non-farm employment. institutions.
QES shows a growing trend for recruitment in the organized category employing 10 or more employees, in nine selected categories. Manufacturing, Construction, Trade, Transport, Education, Health, Accommodation and Restaurant, IT / BPO and Financial Services. More than 85% of employees are Normal Workers. The manufacturing sector is the largest employer with approximately 39% of the estimated number of employees followed by the education sector 22%.
