Pinaka Mk-I (Advanced) Rocket System (EPRS) and Pinaka Area Denial Munition (ADM) rocket systems have been successfully tested by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Indian Army in the Pokhran Firing Ranges. A total of 24 EPRS rockets were fired at different types during the last two or two.
The required precision and consistency was achieved by the rockets meeting all the targets of the test satisfactorily. Through these channels, the first phase of industrial EPRS technology absorption has been successfully completed and industry partners are ready to test users / series of rocket system production. The Pinaka rocket system was developed by Armament Research and Development Establishment, Pune sponsored by the High Energy Materials Research Laboratory, another Pune-based laboratory based in DRDO.
EPRS is an improved version of the Pinaka diversity that has worked with the Indian Army over the past decade. The system is advanced with advanced technology that enhances the scope to meet emerging needs. After the successful implementation of the Pinaka advanced grade version, the technology has been transferred to industries namely. Munitions India Limited (MIL) and Economic Explosives Limited Nagpur. The rockets produced by MIL under Transfer of Technology from DRDO were piloted during the campaign. The various types of weapons and missiles that can be used in the Pinaka rocket system were also successfully tested at the Pokhran Field Firing Range.
Secretary of the Department of Defense R&D and Chairman DRDO Dr G Satheesh Reddy congratulated the teams on completing rocket tests for new projects based on advanced technology in the time of the recording.
