Katrina attended the trailer launch in a black floral pantsuit. Ishaan and Siddhant also joined her in black. They were joined by Jackie Shroff and producer Farhan Akhtar at the trailer launch. The trailer of Phone Bhoot featuring Katrina Kaif as a ghost is finally out. The quirky trailer features two self-proclaimed ghostbusters, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter, and Katrina as the ghost who approached them with a business idea. While the trio sets out to catch ghosts to make them attain moksh (freedom), Jackie Shroff appears to be the villain in the story and decides to teach them a lesson and spoil their plans.
The 2 minute 49 second trailer also shows how the film still manages to deliver a few dance numbers and some hilarious situations, with many references from various Bollywood films like Koi…Mil Gaya and Haqeeqat. The hilarious trailer ends with Katrina Kaif correcting the Hindi of Sheeb Chaddha’s ghost and giving up moments later saying, “tumhari hindi week hai, koi nahi (your Hindi is weak, that’s okay). Phone Bhoot is directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Ravi Shankaran and Jasvinder Singh Bath. It is produced under the Excel Entertainment banner of Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. The film is slated to hit theaters on November 4, 2022. The film was shot before the lockdown and has been in post-production for quite some time now.
Katrina had earlier announced the release date of the trailer with a video in which Ishaan and Siddhant were seen trying to explore something with a glowing handle in their hands. The movie trailer showed a giant Katrina playing with a car that had Ishaan and Siddhant in the front seats. She appeared to pick up the tiny car and drop it into the air, only to catch it moments later.
Katrina was last seen opposite Akshay Kumar in the 2021 film Sooryavanshi. Apart from Phone Bhoot, Katrina also has the third installment of the Tiger franchise with Salman Khan, Merry Christmas with Vijay Sethupathi and Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa opposite Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra. Siddhant Chaturvedi made his Bollywood debut with Gully Boy and was last seen in Gehraiyaan starring Deepika Padukone. Ishaan was last seen in the 2020 film Khaali Peeli and is prepping the war film Pippa.
