North Korea on Saturday condemned US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for supporting deterrence against North Korea during her visit to South Korea this week. Pelosi and her South Korean counterpart, National Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-pyo, pledged Thursday during their stop in South Korea after a visit to Taiwan to achieve denuclearization of North Korea.

North Korean state media said Pelosi’s remarks were part of a US plan to escalate tensions on the Korean Peninsula.  Also reported that Pelosi sought to justify hostile US policy towards North Korea and support the US arms buildup.

“Pelosi, the worst destroyer of international peace and stability, has drawn the ire of the Chinese people for her recent trip to Taiwan,”citing Jo Yong Sam, director general of the Ministry of Press and Information at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Korea.

“The United States will have to pay dearly for all the sources of trouble it has spawned wherever it goes.”North Korea was preparing for a nuclear test in the first six months of this year, according to an extract from a confidential  report on Thursday.
