Nepal Earthquake: India Offers Solidarity and Assistance After 6.4 Magnitude Quake Claims Lives

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of lives and damage caused by the earthquake in Nepal, assuring India’s readiness to extend all possible assistance. A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck Nepal on Friday night, resulting in at least 128 casualties and over 100 injuries. The tremors were felt as far away as Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and the Delhi-NCR region.
The earthquake’s epicenter was recorded in Jajrakot’s Lamidanda, 142 km from Kathmandu, and 941 km from New Delhi. Communication has been disrupted in many areas, and officials are concerned that the death toll may rise. Nepal Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ expressed his condolences and mobilized security personnel for immediate rescue and relief efforts.
Injured individuals are receiving treatment at the Surkhet District Hospital, and the Prime Minister instructed security agencies to initiate rescue and relief operations.
