The Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA), on the 2nd of March 2022 organized a webinar named “Technology Enabled Development”, where the inaugural speech was delivered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In his address, the Prime Minister urged the partners to completely execute the theme of the budget in the prescribed timeframe. He stressed on the best way to utilize technology for the Ease of Living. He additionally focused on the guide for the 5G ecosystem and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) plans for making AtmaNirbhar Bharat.
The Prime Minister provided the stakeholders with the guidance to give viable ideas in the areas such as optimum use of optical fibres in providing citizen services, e-waste management, circular economy, and electric mobility.
The Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Prime Minister, K Vijay Raghavan, made a presentation on the topic ‘Towards AtmaNirbhar Bharat in Science and Technology’ during the meeting. Four topical breakaway meetings were undertaken by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), and Department of Science and Technology (DST), after the inaugural session.
A theme was organized by MeitY, named ‘Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development’ under which two-panel discussions were arranged.
The board’s conversation on ‘Energizing Startups & Deep Tech with Data & AI‘ saw participation from specialists such as Dr Rajendra Kumar, Additional Secretary-MeitY, Ms Debjani Ghosh, President-NASSCOM, Dr Inder Gopal, CEO-India Urban Data Exchange-IISc Bangalore, Shri Shekar Sivasubramanian, Head-Wadhwani AI, Shri Srikanth Velamakanni, Co-founder Fractal Analytics. The meeting was supervised by Abhishek Singh, P&CEO, NeGD, MeitY.
It was trailed by one more board conversation on the topic of ‘Making India Global Hub for Data Centre and Cloud’. A powerful discussion was undertaken by the esteemed speakers. The main suggestions of the council included stress on the need for the large scale development of Data Centre and Cloud infrastructure, revision of the government procurement process, and so on.
As a sum-up of the meetings, the respective Ministries and Departments derived the key outcomes of the breakaway meetings.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; and Electronics and Information Technology expressed gratitude toward the administration of the Prime Minister for India has become one of the world’s most famous countries in the utilization of tech not just in areas of R&D, tech improvement and advancements, but also in the utilization of tech to engage and change resident’s lives for the greater good.
