Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari emphasized on reducing logistics cost from 14-16% to 10% with cooperation, coordination and communication between stakeholders. Under the “Climate Goals: Technological Roadmap to Net Zero” program, he said that by reducing the cost of logistics, there will be great savings and thanks to them, a 50% increase in exports can be achieved, which is very important for our economy. When he talked about pollution, he said that we import 16 million fossil fuels, which creates a lot of pollution.
He said that a decision has been taken to create 27 green express highways to reduce travel time and by the end of December there will be new highways where the travel time from Delhi to Chandigarh will be 2 1/2 hours, from Delhi to Amritsar 4 hours, from Delhi to Katra 6 hours, Delhi to Srinagar 8 hours and Delhi to Mumbai 12 hours, Delhi to Jaipur two hours and Chennai to Bangalore also two hours.
The Minister said that technology, innovation and research are very important to achieve the Prime Minister’s vision of making India a $5 trillion economy. Shri Nitin Gadkari said that public transport needs to be promoted so that the Center and the States work together as a team. He said India has a huge domestic market with young and talented engineering workforce, skilled workforce and low labor cost. He emphasized the diversification of agriculture into power and energy and the use of alternative fuels such as bioethanol, LNG and bio CNG. The minister stated that ethics, economy, ecology and the environment are the three most important pillars of society.
