The United States awarded defense contracts to companies on Friday, including one of more than a billion dollars to Lockheed Martin Corp, the Defense Department said in a statement. “This contract procures the materials, parts, components and effort required to sustain the on-time production and delivery of 118 F-35 Type 18 aircraft for the Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy and non-U.S. Department of Defense participants. and foreign military sales customers,” the department said of the $1.05 billion contract with Lockheed.
Earlier this month, Lockheed Martin was awarded a $431 million Defense Department contract to supply new High Mobility Artillery Missile Systems (HIMARS) and support services to the U.S. military and its foreign allies. Separately, Boeing Co won a $497 million firm-fixed-price contract for CH-47F helicopters, the ministry said on Friday, adding that Dec. 30, 2025, is the estimated contract completion date.
