The Kolkata Knight Riders spinner revealed what went wrong in the last few years participating in the franchise

The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League has seen many Indian stars start anew with consistent play. While Hardik Pandya, who had been absent from international competitions since the T20 World Cup last year, returned as captain to lead the Gujarat Titans title, 36-year-old Dinesh Karthik returned to the Indian Team with a thrilling match. in lower-middle sequence.

One such player was Kuldeep Yadav, who finished with 21 wickets a season in 14 games – the fourth highest in the season. Kuldeep was selected by Delhi Capitals for the INR 2 crore at a major pre-season auction. Left-arm spinner represented the Kolkata Knight Riders for eight seasons before switching clubs this year; however, his last few years in the franchise were disappointing, to say the least. The lack of chances, coupled with injuries in the previous system saw Kuldeep make only 14 appearances in his last three years for the Knight Riders.

During the interview, Kuldeep ended up being open about what went wrong in the franchise.“I played for them for eight years. It was a family. I saw many good days, and many bad days there. It’s not like the setting was bad. Baz was a great coach. Sometimes, you do not get a place in the group. Sunil (Narine) has been the no.1 spinner for them over the years, and Varun (Chakravarthy) has also done well. For me, the location of the third spin was not in the XI. So, I didn’t get a chance, ”Kuldeep told Sports Yaari. “As a player you would always want to play. If you do not have the opportunity, you start to doubt yourself. He begins to think, ‘What should I do? How do I get a chance? How am I going to do it? ‘ I did not have a problem but I did not just join their team, ”said Kuldeep. In the 2022 program, Kuldeep played every game for the Capitals and finished the season as the wicket-taker.
