Kerala expected for Continued Heavy Rain as Southwest Monsoon Intensifies

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued an orange alert for heavy rain in several districts and a yellow alert for heavy rain in the southern districts.

The International Monetary Fund’s weather bulletin on Tuesday reported a sea level trough on the Maharashtra-Kerala coast. Also, cyclonic circulation occurs in and around central Gujarat. Fishermen are advised not to venture out to sea as wind gusts between 35 kmph to 45 kmph are likely to gust to 55 kmph along the Kerala coast.
