Empowering Educators: KAMP Hosts Experiential Learning Program for Science Teachers

On the 27th of February, KAMP (Knowledge and Awareness Mapping Platform) orchestrated a transformative online teacher training program, gathering over 150 educators from diverse schools nationwide. Themed ‘Fostering Experiential Learning in Science Education, Beyond the Textbook’, the event marked KAMP’s fifth Continuous Professional Development initiative for teachers, conducted in collaboration with the CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (CSIR-NML).

Throughout the program, participating teachers immersed themselves in enriching training sessions led by esteemed subject matter experts. Notable scientists, including Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhury, Dr. K. Gopala Krishna, and Dr. Animesh Jana from CSIR-NML, shared insights and methodologies aimed at revolutionizing science education.

The sessions delved into various dimensions of science education, emphasizing innovative approaches to enhance the learning experience. Scientists elucidated CSIR-NML’s core focus areas, such as materials, minerals, and effective resource management, while introducing tools and strategies for immersive learning.

Interactive discussions and hands-on examples, including demonstrations on primary colors, electromagnetic induction, and contactless electricity transport, captivated educators, broadening their pedagogical horizons.

Expressing gratitude to the speakers and participants, Mr. Aniket Arora, Outreach Coordinator at KAMP, underscored the significance of experiential learning in fostering a profound understanding of science among both teachers and students. He highlighted KAMP’s commitment to facilitating such transformative experiences and announced upcoming activities, including online Knowledge Sharing Sessions and Scientific Excursions, aimed at nurturing curiosity and engagement with various scientific disciplines.
