Lifestyle Focus: Janhvi Kapoor says she realises the privelages that she has because of being a star kid

Janhvi Kapoor said she understands that much of the fame that came her way was because of her parents. She is the daughter of producer Boney Kapoor and late actor Sridevi. In a new interview, Janhvi said she is ‘not delusional’ when she thinks she has ‘earned it all’. Janhvi is gearing up for the release of Good Luck Jerry, which also stars Deepak Dobriyal and Sushant Singh in lead roles. After debuting with Karan Johar-backed Dhadak in 2018, Janhvi appeared in films like Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl or Roohi. All four films she’s starred in so far including Netflix’s Ghost Stories feature her in lead roles and are backed by production companies like Dharma Productions and RSVP.

In an interview  Janhvi said, “Honestly… a lot of the attention and recognition (that) has come my way is primarily because of who my parents are. I think it’s very clear and I identify with that. I don’t pretend delusion and I think I’ve earned it all or even deserve it. But now I have it. And I think what I want to do with it is good work. Because I love my job. And so privilege and trolling on social media and all that is secondary. My main priority and focus is really honing my craft and giving my all to my work.”

She also spoke about the pressure to stay relevant in the industry, telling the paper she’s only been in the business for four years. If my relevance ends in four years, I shouldn’t even try. But I dont know. I actually didn’t think of that. I just want to do a good job.”As the eldest daughter of Sridevi, Janhvi has remained in the news for her public appearances much before she made her debut in 2018. Her younger sister Khushi Kapoor is now all set to make her acting debut with the Netflix original The Archies. Janhvi is now working on Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal, which also stars Varun Dhawan. The film is slated to release in April 2023. It also has Mr. and Mrs. Mahi and Milli in the pipeline.
