Shri Bhagwanth Khuba opened the Industry Connect with Center of Excellence Conclave under DCPC

India – Shri BhagwanthKhuba opened the “Industry Connect with Center of Excellence Conclave under DCPC” at Habitat World, India Habitat Center, New Delhi. The event was organized by the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) under the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC).

The Union MoS welcomed the efforts made by the Center of Excellences (CoEs) in developing traditional technology to achieve the goal of His Excellency the Prime Minister of AatmaNirbhar Bharat. Acknowledging the efforts of DCPC and CIPET in organizing the exhibition event, identifying the appropriate Industry Partner and understanding the future needs of the Industry, he said CoEs work in the fields of Energy Efficient Devices, Eco-Friendly Polymeric Products, Waste. Management and Recycling, Smart Polymers, Polymers in Health Care etc., thus facilitating technological development and thus, startup. In the future the research results of these projects will make India a hub for indigenous technologies. One-on-one projects on Bio medical equipment and toys will make India less dependent on foreign exchange and thus save foreign exchange, he added.

Knowledge creation and marketing

Highlighting the importance of co-operation between stakeholders, Shri BhagwantKhuba said “it is important that Industrial and Academia not only work together but grow together. Knowledge creation and marketing are like the two ends of a river that must be joined together by such interactions among all stakeholders. ” He urged all participants to use the Japanese concept of Kaizen and redefine the work on silos, create a comprehensive research program and innovation in the country.

He said the government had created a Center of Excellence in CIPET and other Educational Institutions across the country to improve the research and innovation process. He called on the scientists present at the forum to conduct research aimed at developing sustainable and diverse solutions to complex industrial problems and to support them in collaborative R&D efforts in technology research and policy. It is time for the next step of the industry push to empower this research market. In this case, such conclaves and collaborations are helpful in knowing the needs of the industry.

Shri BhagwantKhuba also unveiled the CIPET e-Newsletter and portal for Center of Excellence (CoE) and Industrial connect at the event today.Following the Launch Program, a technical session was held on the following topics: Bio-engineered Polymeric Systems, Polymers-Based Bio-Medical Devices, Polymer-Based Toys and Advanced Polymers and Composites. Scientists from various CoEs have given presentations on the effect of their results to industry. Professor (Dr.) Shishir Sinha, Director General of CIPET cast a vote of thanks.Scholars, Scientists, Research Scholars, CIPET staff and students, alumni, industry and organizations participated in the conclave both physically and physically.
