The approval of the world’s first electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) taxi for pilotless flights represents a significant step forward in the development of urban air mobility in Guangzhou. EHang’s EH216-S, a two-seater eVTOL taxi, was awarded a “type certificate” by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on October 13, allowing it to operate without a pilot on board.
