Chandramukhi 2 starring Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut Opens with Decent Box Office Numbers

Chandramukhi 2,” the horror comedy starring Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut, made a decent opening at the box office on Thursday. According to early estimates reported by Sacnilk.com, the film garnered ₹7.5 crore across all languages. Directed by P Vasu, the movie features Raghava Lawrence in a dual role.

The film had a notable occupancy rate on its opening day:

•Tamil occupancy: 51.90%

•Telugu occupancy: 42.65%

•Hindi occupancy: 12.77%

“Chandramukhi 2” released alongside two Hindi films, “The Vaccine War” and “Fukrey 3.” It’s worth noting that the release date coincided with Eid-e-Milad an-Nabi and Ganpati Visarjan, which led to a holiday in parts of India.

“Chandramukhi 2” is the sequel to the blockbuster Tamil horror comedy “Chandramukhi,” starring Rajinikanth and Jyothika in the lead roles. Ahead of the film’s release, Raghava Lawrence sought Rajinikanth’s blessings and congratulated the senior actor for the success of “Jailer.”

The movie’s trailer introduces a family moving into a mansion with a warning to avoid the south block, known as Chandramukhi’s residence. Kangana plays the role of a dancer in the king’s court, known for her beauty and dance skills, while Raghava Lawrence portrays King Vettaiyan Raja in another world that forms the backdrop of the mansion’s story.

“Chandramukhi 2” was originally scheduled for release on September 15 but was postponed to September 28 due to technical issues. The film’s music, composed by M. M. Keeravani, features songs like “Thori Bori,” a family song, Kangana’s dance number “Swagathaanjali,” and Raghava Lawrence’s dance number “Moruniye.”
