Mark Carney Wins Canada PM Race Rejects US Integration Idea

In his victory speech at the Liberal Party convention Carney made it clear that Canada would remain independent and would never align with the United States in any form. His remarks came in response to former US President Donald Trump repeated claims about making Canada the 51st state of the US.

Carney declared “America is not Canada. Canada will never ever be part of America in any way, shape or form”.

Carney also accused the US of wanting Canada’s resources, water, and land, warning that if America succeeded in its ambitions, it would destroy the Canadian way of life. He emphasized that Canada’s healthcare system is a right, not a business, contrasting it with the American model.
Carney took a firm stance against Trump’s tariff threats on Canadian dairy and lumber products stating that Canada would not back down and would continue retaliatory measures until the US demonstrated a commitment to fair trade.

He also took a jibe at Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, accusing him of blindly following free-market policies while lacking real-world business experience.

While acknowledging the challenges ahead, Carney urged Canadians to remain strong and united. “We can and we will come out stronger than ever, because Canada is built on the strength of its people,” he affirmed.

Ottawa: Mark Carney has been elected as Canada’s next Prime Minister, securing a landslide victory in the Liberal Party leadership race with over 85% of the vote.
