Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt had to forgo their salaries in view of the rising VFX bills in Brahmastra

Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra was considered a hit at the box office, but its actual collection and the profit it made is still foggy. While many have called it a blockbuster, others are still not convinced, thanks to the film’s enormous budget. It is speculated that the film is actually made on a budget of ₹650 crore and not ₹400 crore, a number that has been floating around since the film was still in production.

There is also some speculation as to whether the lead stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt had to forgo their salaries in view of the rising VFX bills. Now Ayan has replied to the same. In an interview with trade analyst Komal Nahta about the same, Ayan dropped some vague explanations.

The question was posed to Ranbir Kapoor, but Ayan chose to answer it, “The truth is that the film was made because of a great personal sacrifice. It is true that the amount that Ranbir would have earned as a star actor, he did not take anything for the production of Brahmastra. That’s a very, very big thing, because it wouldn’t be possible to make this movie.”

Ayan also spoke about Alia, “When she joined the film it was in 2014, she had only a few releases. He’s not the star he is today. The amount that was fixed for Alia in this film was not much, but even this small amount, when we completed the film, even Alia said that everything went into the making of the film.”

However, Ranbir gave a clearer answer “This is the capital I have for life, I am also a part producer of the film and I did not charge for part 1, but the belief that I have about the amount that the film will make. over three parts), that’s beyond anything I’d get as an actor, the price as an actor.

Earlier, Ranbir explained that the ₹650 crore that was given as the budget of Brahmastra Part 1-Shiva is actually spread across three films in the franchise. In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Ranbir said, “We read a lot these days where people discuss the budget of a film. People say so much is the budget and so much is the recovery. But Brahmastra is a unique entity where the budget is not just for one film but for a whole trilogy.”
