Former Bigg Boss 16 Contestant and Politician Archana Gautam Expelled from Congress for Six Years

Former Bigg Boss 16 contestant and politician, Archana Gautam, has been expelled from the Congress party for a duration of six years, as confirmed by Anshu Awasthi, the Uttar Pradesh spokesperson of Congress. The expulsion follows allegations of misconduct on Archana’s part.

Reports suggest that Archana was actually expelled from the national party back in June this year, but the official letter announcing her expulsion only recently surfaced online. Anshu Awasthi also disclosed that the decision to expel Archana was made based on complaints received from the Congress Unit in Meerut.

According to Anshu, Archana had no prior political background but was entrusted with a significant role by the party, contesting from the Hastinapur constituency. Allegations of misconduct and misbehavior from party workers in the Meerut unit, who had supported her during the 2022 Assembly elections, led to the decision to expel her.

Before the expulsion was announced, a show cause notice was issued to Archana, outlining the complaints and giving her one week to respond. Among the issues raised, Archana was accused of failing to clear dues owed to several vehicle owners hired during the campaign.

Archana Gautam had also recently been targeted by a crowd in a viral video, wherein she and her father faced misconduct from the crowd. In response, Archana pointed fingers at Sandeep Singh, blaming him for the state of the party in Uttar Pradesh and challenging him to put her in jail.

Archana Gautam, who contested in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh elections from the Hastinapur constituency, saw her deposit forfeited as she received only 1519 votes in the polls. Apart from her political career, she gained recognition as a contestant on Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 16 and won the title of Miss Bikini India 2018 at Miss Cosmos World 2018.
