Apple Prepares to Launch Vision Pro Mixed-Reality Headset Globally

Summary: Apple is expanding its reach with the Vision Pro mixed-reality headset, training international store employees in Cupertino, California, to demonstrate the $3,499 device. After its initial release in the United States, Apple plans to introduce the headset to international markets following its Worldwide Developers Conference in June. The move aims to boost demand for the high-end device amidst slowing iPhone sales.

Apple is gearing up to extend the availability of its Vision Pro mixed-reality headset beyond the United States, according to a report by Bloomberg News. The tech giant has flown in hundreds of employees from its international stores to Cupertino, California, where they are undergoing training on how to showcase the $3,499 headset to customers. Sources familiar with the matter revealed this information, indicating Apple’s intention to invigorate demand for one of its most expensive products in recent years.

The training sessions, lasting up to four days, involve employees from various countries, including Germany, France, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and China. This suggests that these nations will be among the first to receive the Vision Pro when it launches in international markets. Although Apple has not officially commented on these developments, reports suggest that the headset’s global rollout is planned after the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), scheduled from June 10 to June 14.

The Vision Pro headset made its debut in June last year and became available for purchase in the United States starting February 2. Expanding its availability internationally could provide Apple with an opportunity to attract customers amid slowing sales of its flagship product, the iPhone. Despite the initial excitement surrounding the Vision Pro’s release, demand has reportedly started to taper off, according to analysts.

In a statement made in March, Apple CEO Tim Cook indicated the company’s plans to introduce the Vision Pro to the mainland Chinese market later this year. Cook also emphasized Apple’s commitment to increasing research and development investments in China, highlighting the company’s strategic focus on expanding its presence in key global markets.
