Anger at Khalistan supporters who brought down the Tricolor on a mission in London

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha member Priyanka Chaturvedi condemned the incident and said the UK government must take strictest action against the culprits. “It is absolutely shameful, unacceptable and must be strongly condemned. The UK police and its government must take the strongest action against the culprits who disrespect our tricolor and trespass,” she tweeted.

Congress MP Rajeev Shukla tweeted, “Highly condemnable incident. The British police must arrest the culprits. Mission officials said the “attempted but failed” attack had been foiled and that the tricolor was now flying “more spectacularly” reported.

Scotland Yard said it was called to reports of a disturbance on Sunday afternoon and that a man was arrested during the investigation. “No injuries were reported, but windows were broken in the High Commission building,” the Metropolitan Police said.

“Officers arrived at the scene. Most of those present dispersed before the police arrived. An investigation was launched and a man was arrested nearby on suspicion of violent disorder shortly afterwards. The investigation is ongoing,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi summoned Britain’s top diplomat to file a protest after several videos on social media showed a Sikh man pulling down the flag outside the Indian mission in London. British Deputy High Commissioner Christina Scott was “reminded of the UK government’s fundamental obligations under the Vienna Convention in this regard”, the Foreign Office said in a statement.
