In a speech at the gathering, Dr. Virendra Kumar said the government is developing a skill center inside SVNIRTAR to impart training to Divyangjans. “The skill center will come up in a few months and will be of great help to the Divyangs,” he added. Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized the need to make SVNIRTAR an institute of international standards. Shri Pradhan suggested the Ministry of Social Justice to come up with a proposal to get SVNIRTAR the University status it is supposed to be. The Minister assured all assistance from the Ministry of Education.

“Divyangs have been given due respect in the Modi government. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, Divyangs became mainstream. With a new style of transformative education system, it is ensured that Divyangs get the rights they deserve,” said Shri Pradhan. Later the leaders distributed the aids to the Divyangs. One of the beneficiaries, SatyanarayanPodh from Bargarh, who received a prosthetic hand developed by SVNIRTAR, said that he got a new lease of life thanks to SVNIRTAR.
