Vikram Dev Dutt appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of Air India

New Delhi: On Friday, Vikram Dev Dutt, a 1993-batch IAS officer of Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, took charge as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Air India, an official statement from Air India informed.

Air India statement further said that Dutt has been appointed as the airline’s CMD in the rank and pay of additional secretary. In the press release, Air India said that Dutt took over the charge of the airline on Friday from Civil Aviation Secretary Rajiv Bansal, who was at the helm of Air India till now.

Air India will be handed over to the Tata group this year. The government on October 8 last year had announced that the Tata Group has won the bid to acquire Air India for Rs 18,000 crore.
