MHA has not given any direction to provide EWS flats to Rohingya illegal migrants in New Delhi

In view of the reports in certain sections of the media about Rohingya illegal aliens, it is clarified that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has not given any direction to provide EWS flats to Rohingya illegal migrants in Bakkarwal, New Delhi. The Delhi government has proposed to shift the Rohingyas to a new location.

The MHA directed the Delhi government to ensure that the Rohingya illegal aliens continue at the current site at Kanchan Kunj, Madanpur Khadar, as the MHA has already taken up the matter of deportation of the illegal aliens with the concerned country through the Ministry of External Affairs. Illegal aliens are to be held in the Detention Center until they are deported according to law. The Delhi government has not declared the current location as a detention centre.
