Governance Focus: Website of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) was ranked first in service delivery

The website of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) was ranked first and the Digital Police portal ranked second in the ranking of service delivery on the websites of central government departments. The National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment was conducted by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) in collaboration with its knowledge partners NASSCOM and KPMG in 2021, according to an official statement.

It is a regular assessment aimed at improving the effectiveness of states, Union Territories and the Central Government in providing online services to citizens. According to the recently released evaluation results, the MHA website has been ranked first and the Digital Police portal has been ranked second under the Central Ministries Service Portal, the statement said. In this exercise, service portals were evaluated along with their parent ministry and ministry portal. As far as MHA is concerned, the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) Digital Police Portal https://digitalpolice.gov.in/ has been shortlisted for evaluation under the Service Portal.

Accordingly, the main website of Ministry of Home Affairs https://mha.gov.in has been shortlisted as the parent ministry portal for evaluation.All the government portals evaluated were first divided into two main categories States / Union Territory / Central Ministry Portal and State Territory / Union Territory / Central Ministry Service Portals. There were four main parameters: assessment accessibility, content availability, ease of use and information, security and privacy. Three other parameters have also been used for end-to-end service delivery of the Central Ministry Service Portals category, delivery and status of integrated services and demand tracking, the statement said.
